Therapeutic Groups

Located to the right is the list of all groups ​offered by the practice to individuals ​managing mental health issues, life ​challenges, and more. All groups are open, to ​make it convenient for members.


Therapeutic groups are designed to be safe, ​open, and collaborative. All group members ​must/will be screened beforehand, and must ​complete an intake appointment (prior to ​attending any group offered by the practice).

Therapeutic Groups

Trauma Support Group

This therapeutic group is specifically for individuals who have experienced a significant traumatic event in their life (or many) that has had a profound ​impact on their emotional and mental well-being. For the purpose of this support group, trauma could include rape, incest, abuse, witnessing a traumatic ​event, or any other event that has caused significant harm.


Black Women Support Group

This therapeutic group is for black women to meet, connect, heal, and build a community centered around the shared experience of being black women. ​This community of women face unique mental health challenges that will be covered and discussed openly. Topics discussed would include body image, ​culture, self-esteem, shame/guilt, systemic barriers, and more.


LGBTQ+ Support Group

This therapeutic group is for individuals who self-identify as lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer/questioning and more. Within this group, members ​meet and support one another while covering the themes of coming out, overcoming shame/guilt associated with their sexuality, societal expectations, ​building support, and more.


Anger Management

This therapeutic group is for individuals struggling with managing their secondary emotions that lead to their difficulty in navigating their emotional ​distress. The anger management group encompasses recognizing triggers, coping skills, and emotional regulation.


Anxiety/Stress

This therapeutic group is for individuals struggling with anxiety-related symptoms and looking for support, guidance, and tools for effectively navigating ​anxiety and stress. Group sessions include recognizing symptoms, learning and developing new coping skills, and processing triggers related to symptoms.




Therapeutic Groups

College Students

This therapeutic group is for individuals struggling with navigating the emotional distress and challenges of the college experience. This ​group is designed for undergraduate students, but graduate level students are encouraged to join. Topics include, exploring one’s identity ​as a student, stress management, and much more.


Teachers/Educators

This therapeutic support group is designed for teachers within both public and private education. Teachers/Educators who teach ​students in kindergarten to twelve grade are encouraged to join. Group members include, but are not limited to, teachers, teacher ​aids/assistants, paraprofessionals, etc. Group topics include stress management, validating the emotional distress educators face, building ​community support, and more.


Grief/Loss Bereavement

This therapeutic support group is designed for individuals who have experienced the loss of a loved one. The group provides a space for ​individuals to process emotions and feelings related to loss, develop new insight from peers, and continue their journey of healing. Group ​topics include psycho-education regarding grief, coping mechanisms to manage loss, and more.


Mental Health Therapists

This therapeutic support group is designed for individuals who identify as mental health therapists. This would include but is not limited ​to, licensed clinical social workers, licensed mental health counselors, licensed marriage and family therapists, etc. This group will ​support clinicians in topics such as, burnout, healthy boundary-setting, and more.

Inclusion/Exclusion Criteria

For any person interested in joining a ​therapeutic group, please feel free to see the ​requirements you MUST meet in order to ​join/be an active member:


  • Must be 18 years of age or older.
  • Must provide a valid form of Florida ​identification.
  • Must have active health insurance (if you ​lose coverage, it is the client’s responsibility ​to inform provider or you will be charged a ​$30 fee.

NEXT, if you meet criteria, you will be contacted via email ​to set up a time for your intake appointment.


AFTER establishing a date/time for your intake ​appointment, your contact and billing information will be ​verified to ensure a smooth start on your journey of healing.

Therapeutic Group Member ​Rules/Requirements

  1. All information gathered and shared during the group w​ill be kept confidential and should not be discus​sed outside of gro​up.
  2. Each member is granted a 10-minute grace period​ to show up to their confirmed appointment time slot​.
  3. If you do not notify within 48 hours of cancellation​ for your assigned group slot, you will have to pay a​ $50 cancellation fee. This is non-negotia​ble.
  4. While your provider offers group, is is the responsib​ility of the client to be engaged and participate. This is​ your group as well. Like any form of mental health the​rapy, the experience is what you put into it. Participati​on ​is encouraged, but not required.

Billing

As a reminder, payment for services will be processed the ​SAME day therapeutic services will be offered. No ​exceptions.

If payment on hand is not able to be processed, you will ​not be able to attend group.
